About Me
Hello! I’m Florence Michel, and I am an educator with 16 years of experience teaching English/language arts in public middle and high schools, and 10 years of experience teaching in a cooperative homeschool setting. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in English from Villanova University and a Master’s degree in Teaching English from Fordham University.
I have taught learners of all types, including students who qualify as gifted and talented, students with specific learning disabilities, students with autism spectrum disorders, students with other health impairment, and students with intellectual disability, as well as students who are twice exceptional.
I love meeting students where they are and working with them to discover the ways they learn best!
What Can I Do For You?
I can work with your student on reading comprehension and fluency, improve your student’s lexile level, and help them to feel more confident as a reader.
Along with their reading skills, I can also help them to develop their vocabulary and improve their writing skills, and prepare them for the rigors of high school and higher academic writing.
I can also work with your student on test-taking skills for the MCAP and other state assessments, as well as the PSAT and SAT.
I can work with your student on organizational skills and managing their tasks and their time.
I work with students in-person and online, and I can provide one-on-one or small group instruction.
My four week summer skills small group program is starting the week of June 22nd!
Let me create a personalized plan for your student!
